What can you expect after the first initial contact in order to collect your debts?

Five days after your first initial letter is sent, your debt collector is legally allowed to call you or alternatively, reach out to your neighbours, friends, and family if you aren’t available. While they are allowed to call them to confirm your name and contact information, they are not legally allowed to release any information about the debt.

After they make contact with you, they can then identify themselves and release details regarding your debt, and explore paths to resolution.
